Food Truck

Just some of the food that I’ve made. My tastes come from growing up in Asia, Africa, Europe, and USA. But definitely a bias to Asian food. The occasional low-carb food is my desperate attempts to lose weight.

Katsu-Don

Katsu-Don

One of my favorite meals when I lived in Japan was “katsu-don”. It’s a homestyle meal-in-a-bowl built on layers: steamed white rice, topped with panko breaded fried pork cutlet (“tonkatsu”) then a layer of fried onions, a half-cooked lightly scrambled egg, then the whole mess covered with a dashi and mirin pour-over. Garnished with sliced seaweed. There’s supposed to be sliced scallions, but I used them all up in the Pad Thai yesterday.
I ate the whole bowl of katsu-don while I was typing this out. Couldn’t wait. It’s that yummy.

Pad Thai with Pork and Prawns

One reason I don’t go out for Thai food — because I can make it myself! Extra fancy with the egg on top and head-on prawns.

Spam Fries

From Scott’s recipe book chapter, “Just Because It Tastes Good, Doesn’t Make It Right”
(I had the deep fryer oil out from making the Salt and Pepper Shrimp, so I figured might as well keep going…)

Hong Kong Salt and Pepper Prawns

Getting my Chinese cooking game on. Typical item you’ll find on a Dim Sum menu. Super-easy, one of my favorites to eat with some hot chili oil and soy sauce.
